Obvious Adams

Obvious Adams is a classic business story published in 1916. PDFs are publicly available but I couldn’t find a well-formatted ebook. So I made one.

For those who are interested, here’s what I did: Since this was a small book, I decided to copy the text into a markdown file manually from a PDF. After that it was a matter of creating a cover image on Canva, and fiddling around with the metadata in the markdown file so that Pandoc converts it properly. Took me 44 minutes. Creating the git repository and publishing it took 15 more.

It’s amazing how the right tools came together to let me produce an acceptable ebook within an hour. Now, if only writing one was that easy.
